Lesson 20: Book of Purification from Umdatul-Ahkam – Uways at-Taweel
Explanation of Two Hadeeths:
A. Last Hadeeth (#6) of the Chapter of Madhī and other affairs related to impurities:
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ saying:
“Five (practices) are from the fitrah (pure natural disposition): Circumcision, Shaving of the pubic hair (around the private parts), Shortening the moustache, Clipping the nails, and Removing pubic hair from the armpits.”
Some issues discussed:
- The meaning of Al-Fitrah
- Clarification of each practice mentioned and their religious and worldly benefits
- A general understanding and some benefits extrapolated from the Hadith
B. Hadeeth #1 of the Chapter of Ghusl (Ritual Bath) from Janābah:
Abu Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ met him in some of the paths of Madīnah while he was in the state of Janābah. He said: “So I hid and went to make ghusl and came back.” So he ﷺ said “Where were you, O Abu Hurayrah?” He replied: “I was in the state of Janābah and I disliked that I sit with you while I was not in a state of purification”. So he ﷺ responded: “Subhanallāh! Verily, the believer does not become impure.”
Some issues discussed:
- The meaning of Al-Fitrah
- Clarification of each practice mentioned and their religious and worldly benefits
- A general understanding and some benefits extrapolated from the Hadith
