Seeking Forgiveness Plentifully at the End of Ramadān – Shaykh Sālih Al-Fawzān

Shaykh Sālih Al-Fawzān (حفظه الله) said:

A person should seek forgiveness plentifully at the end of (good) deeds and at the end of ‘Ibādāt (acts of worship) such as at the end of the month Ramadān.

The Muslim that Allāh guided and granted him success to fast the month (Ramadān) and observe its night prayer (Tarawēh), it is incumbent upon him to follow this up with seeking forgiveness and humbling himself completely (in dua’) before Allāh سبحانه وتعالى.

He should not assume that he has performed the deeds in the most correct and required form because perhaps there may be many shortcomings in his deeds, which he is unaware of. Hence, it is upon him to make Istighfār (seeking forgiveness) plentifully, and he should consider what he has done (of good deeds) to be very little in comparison to The Right of Allāh سبحانه وتعالى (upon him).
