Supplication on the Day of ‘Arafah

‘Amr Ibn Shuhaib narrated from his father, who narrated from his grandfather that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of ‘Arafah, and the best thing I and the Prophets before me have said is:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

“Lā ilaha illa Allāh wahdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahu al-Mulk wa lahu al-Hamd, wa huwa ‘alā kuli shay’in qadeer”

There is no deity truly worthy of worship except Allāh alone, He has no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praises, and He is Able to do all things.

عنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:ـ
خَيْرُ الدُّعَاءِ دُعَاءُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ، وَخَيْرُ مَا قُلْتُ أَنَا وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ قَبْلِي : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
