Authoring is from the Religion

قال الشيخ الدكتور عبدالله بن صلفيق الظفيري^١ – حفظه الله تعالى:ـ

من توفيق الله عز وجل لطالب العلم أن يعرض ما كتبه وما يكتبه للعلماء ليُصَوِّبون الخطأ الذي يقوله ويراجعون ما يكتب. فالإنسان ضعيف، طالب العلم مهما أعطى من ذكاء، وأعطى من علم، فحاجته للارتباط بالعلماء أعظم الحاجات. وهذا ما وفقني الله عز وجل إليه من صغري، ما كتبت كتابا إلا عرضته على مشايخنا وعلمائنا، من فضل الله عز وجل، ككتابي الأول سل السيوف والأسنة (سل السيوف والأسنة على أهل الهوى وأدعياء السنة) وهذا الكتاب (حقيقة المنهج السلفي وحاجة الأمة الماسة إليه في نجاتها وانتصارها على أعدائها)، ورسالة الرد على جماعة التبليغ، وكذلك الرسالة الأخرى، ملحوظات وتنبهات على فتوى عبدالله بن عبدالرحمن الجبرين في دفاعه عن الإخوان المسلمين ودفاعه عن سيد قطب، هذا هو الواجب على طالب العلم أن يجالس العلماء في بداية الطلب وأن يعرض عليهم كل ما يريد أن يكتب، حتى يقروه على ما يكتب، فالكتابة دين، ويجب على المسلم أن يعرض ما هو حق للمسلمين، وإنما ينتفع المسلم بعد توفيق الله عز وجل بالرجوع إلى العلماء.ـ

Shaykh Dr. Abdullāh Ibn Sulfēq adh-Dhafairī – may Allah preserve him – said¹:

From the Tawfēq (Blessing) of Allāh عز وجل upon a student of knowledge is that he presents what he has written and that which he intends to write to the Scholars so that they can correct his mistakes and review what he writes. For indeed humans are weak; no matter the extent of intelligence and knowledge the student of knowledge is bestowed with, his need for persistent connection with the Scholars is from the greatest need.

This is what Allāh عز وجل has blessed me with since my youth. From the Fadhlu (Favor and Blessing) of Allāh عز وجل on me is that I never wrote a book except that I presented it to our Mashāyikh and ‘Ulamā. For example, my first book, “Sal as-Suyoof wal-Asinnah ’alā Ahli Ahwaa’ wa Ad’iyaa’ as-Sunnah” (Unsheathing the Sword and Teeth against the People of Desires and the False Claimants of the Sunnah), and also this book: “Haqīqat al-Manhaj as-Salafee wa hājjatul Ummah al-māssah ilayhi fī najātihaa wa intisārihaa ‘alā a’dā’ihaa” (The Reality of the Salafee Methodology and the Ummah’s dire need of it for its success and in being victorious over its enemies), and my treatise on the refutation of the Tabligh Jamā’ah, and also my other treatise (titled): “Malhudhāt wa tanbihāt ‘alā fatwa ‘Abdillāh Ibn ‘AbdirRahman al-Jibreen fī difā’ihi ‘an al-Ikhwān al-Muslimeen wa difā’ihi ‘an Sayyid Qutb” (Comments and Warnings regarding the Fatwa of ‘Abdullāh Ibn ‘AbdurRahman al-Jibreen in his defense of Ikhwanul Muslimeen and Syed Qutb).

This is what is obligatory upon the student of knowledge that he should cling to the Scholars through consistently sitting with them to learn from them in his early stage of seeking knowledge, and that he presents to them all what he intends to write so that they approve what he writes (to be correct).

So, authoring (and writing) is from the Deen (Religion), and it is obligatory upon the Muslim that he presents the truth to the Muslims. After the Tawfēq (Blessing) of Allāh, the Muslim only becomes beneficial to others by returning to the Scholars.²
